In 2019 we expanded our space there, adding a counter where our customers could eat as well as some new items to our menu. Our beginnings were humble - we opened in May 2018 as a takeout and delivery food counter in the Waterloo Central Supermarket.
Although we offer a variety of Korean dishes - Yang Yum Korean Fried Chicken is our passion and our specialty.
A slight variation of the typical spelling Yangnyum or Yangnyeom, the word refers to a variety of seasoned fried chicken - our version Yang Yum is meant to sound even more yummy. The name Yang Yum was conceived over the course of a long night of plotting, scheming, and spiced rum. Yang Yum brings to Waterloo, Ontario the deliciously secret Korean recipes of owner and chief cook, the mysterious 정연.
